Dumbbell-lamp?

We came across this interesting little lighting concept recently on Design Spotter. It is "the system of lamps, inspired by dumbbell, realised in polypropylene or soft touch plastic."
This Dumbbell lamp is designed by Samal design France. So what do we think about these dumbbell lamps? Since it's still a lighting concept and there are not much information about how these things work, yet. However, it does seem like a good idea if we can take each dumbbell as a flash light (assuming these are battery operated) and then hook up a bunch together to really light up a space.
Seems like it would be a fantastic idea if as we hook these dumbbell lamps on the chains, they also start charging the batteries. Could this really be a great lighting product? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

let's start from here....
"i don't care where we go"
it's lyric from a song... i don't care where i go
無所謂
i don't care
isn't it always better to not care
like living on clouds... not a worry in the world
無所謂 誰可以真的作到?

differences...
the differences between me and the rest...
i have tried.. i even stayed strong. tried to smile as i talked to them
but what i see facing me is also a fake smile
a face smiling back at me. almost twitching... it's not a real smile. real smiles don't twitch
how to communicate when the two minds are so different?
i can't get through...
and maybe that's how they feel too..
-----\\\\"we can't get through to her" is what they would say.
what should i do now?
nothing i do seem to please them... and everything i do is wrong
how can i make it right? i just want everything and everyone to be okay...
how do i communicate the difference?
how do i make the difference go away....

New hair cut :: from my "can do everything" sister

Even though this happened about 1 1/2 weeks ago... I still wanted to post it on my blog. One day I was complaining about how long my hair was getting and it was covering my eyes.. so Angel was going to help me trim off some hair in the front. But she ended up giving me a new hair cut!! Looks great doesn't it? Yeah.. she's talented like that... do it all Angel.
Oh, btw, the one on the right is me.. the one on the left is Mike, Angel's bf. She gave him a hair cut, too!! Since there were already hair everywhere from my hair cut, it doesn't hurt to have more hair, right? So Angel started to cut Mike's hair as well. He really needed it.. hehe...

ANTs and FAT
In Glendale, CA at my sister, Angel's place, there are a lot of ants! So many in fact that they are all over the kitchen and bathroom. It doesn't matter how clean you keep things, there are still ants... ants everywhere...
Until.. Angel remembered once someone told her that if you keep a piece of fat outside of your window, it will attract all the ants there and keep them out of your house. So that's what we did here. Angel put a piece of cow fat outside of her apartment, and sure enough, ants were all over the fat in seconds. The amazing thing is that... the ants are gone in the kitchen and bathroom!!!!
The plan to get ants outside of the house worked like a charm!!

REi (ray) Huggable™ :: a huggable lighting pillow.

The first product launched by Diana Lin Design LLC is REi Huggable™ – a huggable lighting pillow. It won the bronze prize for the 18th Koizumi International Lighting design competition in 2005. REi Huggable™ has also been published in numerous international magazines and design blogs.
The inspiration of the REi Huggable™ design is of sunlight. The comforting rays of the sun are shared by people around the world. It is the essence of people’s everyday lives. Sunlight not only represents warmth and light, it also creates happiness, joyfulness, playfulness, intimacy and life. However, people often take this for granted, missing the sunlight only when it is unavailable. The concept is to create a light that captures the essences of sunlight as a reminder, condensing it into something that people can create a close relationship with. The word REi, of REi Huggable™, comes from the sound of the word ray as the ray of sunlight. The word also promotes RE-inspiration from the sun.
REi Huggable™ is constructed of a furry pillow cover wrapped around a series of LED lights embedded within silicone bubbles. The idea is to use the properties of the silicone material to act as a diffuser for the LED lights. The silicone’s natural material color is translucent white and when lit with warm white LED lamp, it creates a very warm and comforting glow that represents the sunlight. The tactic material of silicone mimics that of a living creature that almost hugs back at you as you hold it; as well as its ability to absorb body heat, allowing it to be warm to the touch. The shape and material for the lighting pillow cover encourages people to touch, hold and bond with REi Huggable™.
REi Huggable™ is a great product for everyday use. It provides a great sense of warmth and security when held. REi Huggable™ can be used as an accent ambient lighting and also as a comforting cushion. It can also be a great night light for those who likes a warm light for a good night of sleep. In addition, it is also a great sunshine alternative that will uplift people’s mood year round for those suffering from S.A.D (seasonal affective disorder), which comes from the lack of exposure to natural sunlight. The usages of REi Huggable™ are only limited by people’s imaginations.

The sweetest ~~~
In the late afternoon, we were having a little white and relaxing when I noticed a bird flew into the window of our house!!! It was hurt, but still breathing. However, it was laying on the ground and couldn't get up. I can see it was struggling, breathing really hard. It was trying so hard to keep its eyes open, trying to survive.

This is not all. Another bird was standing by it. It must have been the injured bird's partner. The partner stood close to it, however still leaving some room. It was very peaceful, just sitting there and waiting by the injured bird's side. It is like no matter what happens, this bird is not going to leave its partner! SOooooooooo sweet!!! Very sad to watch, it brought tears to my eyes...

After more than an hour of waiting.. and struggling.. and waiting... The injured bird stood up. It wasn't doing much just yet, but it was able to stand up!! ^_^ The other bird started to wiggle its head, making lots of movements. I think the healthy bird was trying to encourage the injured one to try moving. When we saw the bird standing, we were all very happy, but still worried. Will it be able to fly again?

Surely... after a few more minuets... maybe about 15 or 20 minuets. The healthy bird flies away leaving the injured bird on the ground. The injured bird looked around and soon followed the healthy bird. IT WAS OKAY!!!
What a couple!!!
I sure hope when I'm sick and down on the ground... someone will be there waiting... just waiting for me to be well.....
....makes me wanna cry...
